As the Co-Founder of The North Jersey Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and its Executive Director for more 15 years, a current board member of Trinitas Hospital Foundation, a 30-year breast cancer survivor, and a neighbor to many of you, I am writing to ask for your vote for Lacey Rzeszowski to represent the communities of the 21st Legislative District in the state assembly.
Not long ago, I had the opportunity to sit next to Lacey at a women’s healthcare event. I was immediately struck by her energy and leadership ability. As a women of action and someone who believes that when there is a void it must be addressed, I recognized a kindred spirit and know that she has something special to offer this district.
I am struck by Lacey’s command of the issues. She has a keen understanding of the crisis in women’s health care services today. Critical funding is being cut significantly all around us — including funds for CEED, the Department of Health and Senior Services’ Cancer Education and Early Detection Screening Program, which screens for breast, cervical and colon cancer, among others. In addition, underserved populations in neighboring towns and across the state lag behind when it comes to prevention and early detection of women’s cancers. We can’t let this continue. Lacey is willing to take this on, and I believe her.
Lacey Rzeszowski has grace, power, grit and determination — a winning formula. She is poised to make a huge impact in the women’s health arena, and in the fight against gun violence as well — a topic she speaks about passionately and knowledgeably.
After nearly two decades in the non profit space, I understand that when egos are put aside, we can harness the true power of collaboration. Lacey Rzeszowski gets this too. She’s open to possibilities, ready to listen, and will be an effective agent of change for women and families.
New Jersey is a state of many strengths and great possibilities. Our elected officials must work together to solve our most pressing issues. Lacey Rzeszowski is ready to get to work. I hope you will support her and vote on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
