Lance is Tearing Down NJ Gun Laws

Vigil in Mindowaskin Park for victims of gun violence

We are sick and tired of Leonard Lance touting that he is a moderate as he supports all the extreme right wing positions of the Republican Party. His latest stunt is unconscionable.

Shockingly, Lance is working with the NRA to overturn our New Jersey gun laws and  wants everyone in New Jersey carrying a gun: in purses, knapsacks, cars, churches, stores, restaurants, you name it. More guns, that’s all we need.

This is serious and frightening.

NJ.com cites: “New Jersey's strict limits on carrying handguns in public could be headed for the Supreme Court. More than three dozen congressional representatives, including Rep. Leonard Lance of Hunterdon filed a petition this month asking the high court to take the case," referring to the case of Drake V.S. Fehijeran.

And what is he telling his constituents? At the last Townhall Kenilworth when a constituent asked “What is holding you back from supporting universal background checks?“  Lance replied verbatim, “I support the strong laws here in New Jersey .In New Jersey we have extremely strict gun control laws and I have never said they should be lessened."

To say he is being disingenuous is being kind. He is actively lying to constituents.

So Lance says he supports our strict gun laws and doesn’t want them lessened, and that’s why he wants to completely eradicate them and turn us into in concealed carry gun state? He has really hit a new low.

In case Congressman Lance has not done his research, we have, and are here to tell him that our NJ gun laws work. We are happy to report that the state of NJ ranks fifth lowest as far as gun related deaths per capita, whereas Louisiana, with the most lax laws in the country, is number one in gun death rates.

So Congressman, what New Jersey Residents for Action against Gun Violence would like to know is who do you represent exactly? Certainly not the 94 percent of constituents cited in poll after poll who support universal background checks. In addition, if a poll were taken asking constituents whether they support our gun laws being overturned, the results would only echo that 94 percent even more loudly with a resounding “no."

We want to we remind the congressman that NJ is the most densely populated state in the country. Route 22 is already a hotbed of congestion and road rage. Does he really think that it is a good idea for there to be guns in everyone’s car?

This is disgraceful. Leonard Lance says he votes his conscience. We ask you, congressman, “What kind of conscience do you have when you put the NRA, extremists and petty politics ahead of human lives”?

Lance does not care about your safety. Leonard Lance does not care about criminals and terrorists getting guns. If he cared, he would not even take the chance of losing one life. Not one life.

Turning NJ into a concealed carry gun state is a frightening proposition, but a real one if Leonard Lance is elected.

We need our NJ gun laws and organizations such as ours are going to fight to protect them. We need to stop Lance from putting our NJ gun laws up for the NRA’s bidding. Leonard Lance is dangerous.

Remember in this upcoming election who stands on the right side of this issue and who stands on the wrong side. Leonard Lance is on the wrong side.

Would the Stock Market Affect Your Home Purchase?

"Fasten your seatbelts; it's going to be a bumpy night." ("All About Eve.") While most people misquote this as "It's going to be a bumpy ride," the actual quote works better for the movie. Bette Davis delivers this with the classic style that made her one of the most loved actresses of her generation.

Well for the stock market it’s been a wild bumpy ...

Facebook (FB), Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Netflix (NFLX) and Google (GOOG) are a major reason why the S&P 500 rallied so much in 2017. Mr. Market is convinced the FAANGs are impervious to a sell-off. “Its different this time” is ringing loud and clear, but will the outcome really be that ...
