PLAINFIELD, NJ – Acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park released the identity of Plainfield’s latest homicide victim, 32-year-old Shamar Coleman.
Coleman was shot multiple times Dec. 30 inside the Seafood Rama Restaurant located at the 1000 block of East Second Street in Plainfield. Coleman was a well-known business person in the community.
The killing marks the 12th Plainfield homicide in 2016. The homicide was less than a week after Manuel Berrios, 18, was killed and another person was wounded just a few blocks from the latest crime scene.
This latest crime is under joint investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force, Plainfield Police Division, Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, and Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit.
