WESTFIELD, NJ—The Westfield High School Theatre Department will present its fall play, A Little Hotel on the Side, this Thursday, Nov. 29 at 4:00 p.m., Friday, Nov. 30, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 1, at 7:30 p.m.
Little Hotel, a French farce set in Paris during the late 1800s, is a laugh a minute. There’s physical comedy--like the multiple scenes where Matt Lynn (in the lead roll of Benoit Pinglet) falls flat on his face, as do the porters and just about every other character in the show.
There’s romantic comedy, too. Taylor Jackson plays a scandalous maid who flirts with innocent schoolboy Maxime, played by Jack Mustard.
The cast also includes Michaela Tropeano as Angelique Pinglet, Nicole Zimmerman as Marcelle Paillardin and Geoffrey Ko as Henri Paillardin.
Senior Will Cary plays Inspector Boucard of the Department of Public Morality.
“When you're working on a farce comedy it’s very comical and funny,” said Cary when asked what he enjoys about working on the show. “And, besides that, the cast is incredibly close.”
Performances will take place at Westfield High School, 550 Dorian Road. Tickets, which are $10, are available at the door, or you can reserve tickets by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
