WESTFIELD, NJ — Hours after Republican David Oliveira announced his intention to run for town council in Westfield’s 3rd ward, 3rd Ward Councilman Mark LoGrippo told TAP that he endorses Oliveira.
“As a candidate to represent the 3rd Ward, David's advantage lies in his keen expertise in accounting and finance, strong leadership and the desire to support Westfield's continued progress,” said LoGrippo.
Oliveira, a Westfield resident for over 10 years, has been a member of the Westfield Board of Health for the past three years. He has also served as a Westfield representative on the Union County Community Development Revenue Sharing Committee since 2011.
Oliveira has professional experience as a certified public accountant with Deloitte & Touche and is currently a school business administrator.
“I look forward to meeting as many residents as possible over the next few months and listening to their ideas and concerns as I seek the opportunity to represent the residents of the 3rd Ward on the town council,” said Oliveira in a letter to the editor earlier today. “My commitment and focus will always be on keeping Westfield a safe, family-friendly town with an excellent school system and a thriving downtown.”
