SPRINGFIELD, NJ - TAP into Montclair has exclusively learned that Tom Brown, longtime employee of Martin's Funeral Home for Service of Montclair, has been killed in a domestic dispute allegedly involving a relative, sources close to the incident have revealed. Although a resident of Springfield, Brown is a native of Montclair.

Reports have indicated the homicide to have occurred on Meckes Street in Springfield, NJ, sometime Monday afternoon.

A source close to the family has also revealed that Brown's daughter may have also been killed in the incident. This has not yet been confirmed by authorities.

Brown was a licensed Funeral Director, graduate of Eckles College of Mortuary Science, Temple University (Mortuary Science), Rutgers University (Business), and Atlantic School of Insurance.

He has been with Martin’s Home for Service, Inc., since 1977.  He was also a United States Army Veteran and served as a member of American Legion Post 251 in Montclair. 

Union County Law Enforcement officials could not be reached for comment at the time of publication.
