Start off small:
To start off make small resolutions that you are more likely to keep. For example, if you want to be more active do not vow that you will wake up at 6 a.m. every morning to go for a morning jog. It is much more realistic to say that you will work out 2-3 times a week and then build it up to 5-6 times a week.
Change one behavior at a time:
Again, start small. For instance, if you like to eat a bedtime snack, try to avoid doing that by reading or meditating at night. Try not to overwhelm yourself by making too many changes all at once.
Talk about it:
Share your stories and frustrations as you experience them. Whether this means confiding in a close friend, writing in a journal, or joining weight loss programs which include group discussions, sharing your experiences and listening to others will help in your weight loss journey.
Weight loss and lifestyle change will present many obstacles and challenges, so be prepared. There may be times where you will doubt yourself or your abilities. We encourage you have a positive attitude and fully commit to your success.
