ELIZABETH, NJ – The Union County Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Victims Unit continues its investigation into a missing child found in a Union County Park Tuesday evening.
According to the prosecutor’s office, a family member reported the 10-year old girl missing shortly after 3 p.m. The girl was found in Phil Rizzuto Park shortly after 5 p.m. and transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure, the prosecutor's office said. Phil Rizzuto Park is located at the intersection of Morris Avenue and North Avenue.
The prosecutor’s office said the investigation is continuing, but there is no known danger to the public.
The investigation is being handled by the Special Victims Unit, assisted by members of the Union County Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit and Elizabeth Police Department.
