ROSELLE, NJ - Representatives from Adelante Alliance New Jersey and the New York General Consulate of Mexico are in Roselle this week to help give immigrants in the tristate area an opportunity to begin procedures to obtain passports, a consular identification cards, birth certificates and dual citizenship.
Immigrants came from as far away as Dover, NJ, on Tuesday Morning to the Roselle Fire Dept. 3rd floor meeting room, located at 725 Chestnut Street, to meet with Consulate Officials.
Mayor Christine Dansereau who the championed and signed into law, the borough’s Municipal Id Program, and was one of the first for standing up to make Roselle a “Sanctuary City” was on hand to welcome the organizers of the event.
According to Karla Quionez-Ruggiero, co-director of Adelante Alliance, the process is open to everyone in the tristate area and they will continue the process through Friday, May 26, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
