ROSELLE, NJ — Twenty one-year-old Tyquan Johnson of Newark, who was shot in the early morning hours on Saturday in Roselle, died later that afternoon. Authorities are searching for 25 year-old Nathaniel Price from Roselle and have charged him with murder and other related weapons offenses, according to acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park.
Roselle Police officers were called to the 1000 block of Rivington St. shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. There, they found Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to University Hospital in Newark.
The shooting is still under investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force, Roselle Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, and Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit.
