“Most changes in the results from the 2016 rankings to the 2017 rankings are due to updated data from schools, as well as the inclusion of new schools that have provided adequate data for the ranking, not a change in methodology,” a Niche spokesperson said.
According to Niche, the 2017 Best School Districts ranking is based on rigorous analysis of academic and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with test scores, college data and ratings collected from millions of Niche users. Ranking factors included state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, public school district ratings and more, it said.
