WESTFIELD, NJ – Apples will be far from forbidden as the historical society celebrates its 10th annual AppleFest this weekend.

The Westfield Historical Society’s AppleFest will be held noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, on the lawn of the Reeve House, 314 Mountain Ave.

The festival will feature talks, displays, trivia games and old-fashioned children's games, along with historical television clips, impersonators and a magician.

This year marks 50 years of the Historical Society, 100 years of Mindowaskin Park and 150 years of the Fairview Cemetery, according to the society.

The public is invited to win apple pies, twirl to the sounds of the band, Save Mary, with accomplished dancers from the Westfield Ballroom, try food from the Apple Cafe and tour the Reeve House.
