CRANFORD, NJ — Hoagie lovers can rejoice.
There’s a new Wawa at 500 North Avenue East in Cranford, the chain of convenience stores announced. To celebrate the grand opening, the Wawa hosted a socially distanced ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m. featuring VIP customers, local officials and charity partners, the company said in a statement. Doors officially opened to the public at 8 a.m.
This new Cranford store has not only Wawa’s customer favorites, but also mobile ordering, curbside pickup and delivery options, the company’s statement said. The convenience store also features the latest in Wawa’s food options, including the new dinner menu offerings, such as the new burger, pasta, Kids Meals, Heat and Eat Meals and more, Wawa Inc. said.
“As new stores open throughout the year, we will continue to bring not just a new Wawa to the community but a commitment to safety and growth,” said Chris Gheysens, president and CEO of Wawa Inc. “We look forward to meeting all our new friends and neighbors in the Cranford community.”
The location has 12 fuel pumps.
As part of the outdoor, grand opening celebration, Wawa is recognizing everyday heroes in the Cranford Police Department, Cranford Fire Department, and Cranford Volunteer Rescue Squad with its signature “Hoagies for Heroes,” donated lunch, and $1,000 donation to each department’s charity of choice, the company said.
The grand opening of this location is the third new store to open in New Jersey so far in 2021. According to Wawa Inc., each New Jersey store has 60 associates for nearly 200 new job opportunities in total.
