WESTFIELD, NJ — The driver of one of two cars involved in a head-on crash on West Broad Street near Lamberts Mill Road has been taken via helicopter to a hospital.
The crash happened around noon Wednesday. No one else was seriously injured, according to police.
Police are still trying to figure out what caused the crash, and how one of the vehicles involved ended up facing backward on the lawn of a home on West Broad Street.
West Broad Street was closed for the investigation between Lamberts Mill Road and Florence Avenue.
In addition to members of Westfield's police and fire departments, Union County Hazmat workers were on the scene.
