The Friends of New Jersey Festival Orchestra, the fundraising arm of the orchestra, are looking ahead to the arrival of spring and new fashion trends as they partner with the Talbots’ store in the Mall at Short Hills on Thursday, March 10, between 6 and 9 p.m. to present a “fashion show and party.”
According to Mrs. Lee Corcoran, chairman, the party is a “different” kind of fundraiser. She stated, “No admission will be charged, attendance is totally free and no reservations are necessary. Thanks to the generosity of Talbots, a lavish selection of hors d’oeuvres will be served and a group of late-winter and spring fashions will be modeled by members of the Friends group.”
Ten percent of pre-tax sales during the party will be donated to the Friends, according to Ms. Dayna Gonzalaz, General Manager of Talbots’ Short Hills store.
“Talbots signature is timeless fashion. We help HER feel and look HER best. Our clients appreciate the arts and being fashionable.” Ms. Gonzalaz remarked. “After meeting Lee and learning about the orchestra, I fell in love with its mission. It is amazing to have such a prestigious artistic organization so near to our location.”
Attendees will have the chance to win a door prize and receive a “goodie” bag comprised of Talbots merchandize. Raffle tickets to drive a sleek 2016 Tesla automobile for 24 hours will also be on sale by The Friends during evening.
New Jersey Festival Orchestra’s next presentation will be one of the world’s most beloved operas, Puccini’s
La Boheme, on Saturday, March 5, 2016, starring internationally recognized vocalists. Tickets for the opera are available at www.NJFestival Orchestra.org, or by calling 908 232-9400.
