WESTFIELD, NJ — One of Westfield’s oldest houses, the Pierson-Clark home located at 1481 East Broad St., is back on the market. The owners are willing to donate it to any individual or organization who is willing to pay to move it or buy the land*, according to Historic Preservation Commission Chair Kelly Kessler, Mayor Shelley Brindle and Westfield Historical Society President Nancy Priest.
“In response, we, as representatives of the town of Westfield, the Westfield Historic Preservation Commission and Westfield Historical Society are reaching out to the Westfield community to solicit your help and suggestions, with the hope that a solution to save the home may emerge,” they wrote.

Neal Acito, who now serves on the town’s historic preservation commission, created a video about the history of the home last year:
“We are hopeful that interested Westfield citizens will come together to find a solution, whether it be identifying a new location or finding an interested buyer who wants to preserve a very special piece of Westfield’s history,” Kessler, Brindle and Priest wrote.
