The Skeeters scored their third and final run on a double play in the top of the sixth inning.

The Patriots got on the board with their lone run in the bottom of the eighth inning when Scott Kelly scored on a wild pitch to cut the lead to 3-1.

“I feel that Sugar Land did a good job of holding us off,” said Patriots manager Brett Jodie. “Our pitchers held us in there for the day. We had a few threats in there late, but I think that if we could have pushed something across early, that would have made a big difference.”

Konner Wade (2-1) picked up the win with five scoreless innings pitched, scattering four hits and recording three strikeouts. Kyle Davies (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing two earned runs on three hits and six strikeouts in four innings pitched.

The 2018 Somerset Patriots season will continue on the road until Friday, June 1st when the team returns to TD Bank Ballpark for a 7:05 pm game against the Road Warriors.  For tickets, visit www.somersetpatriots.com.
