Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Car on Sunday Night in Westfield

WESTFIELD, NJ - One of two pedestrians struck by a car last Sunday at the intersection of Prospect Street and Cowperthwaite Place died on Wednesday of injuries from the accident.

 Donna Rothstein of Westfield was pronounced dead three days after the accident at the intersection of Prospect Street and Cowperthwaite Place at 5:56 p.m. Sunday.

Rothstein and her husband, Bruce, "were struck while crossing Prospect Street at the intersection of Cowperthwaite Place by a motor vehicle driven by Jason Lutz also of Westfield. Mrs. Rothstein was transported to University Hospital," according to a statement by Westfield Police Chief David Wayman issued on Thursday.

The accident remains under investigation.
