WESTFIELD, NJ – Following the postponement of one application, the Westfield planning board unanimously approved two applications on Monday.

The first appeal, from Wells Fargo Bank located at 150 Elm St., sought relief from the Land Use Ordinance in order to replace lighting fixtures. Whereas the ordinance allows a maximum of 0.5 foot candles at the property line, the bank requested 8.2 foot candles (a measurement of illumination).

After making changes to the types of LED lighting used, the board conditionally approved the project, according to Sam Della Fera.

The second application, submitted by LFM Ventures LLC, requested a minor subdivision (lot line adjustment) between 827 and 817 Willow Grove Rd. The home on Lot 8.01 (817 Willow Grove Rd.) will be demolished in order to construct a new single-family home.

The board asked that plans for a new house be submitted for review by both the site plan review committee and the tree preservation committee, Della Fera said.

Members of the planning board will meet again after the new year on Jan. 4  at 7:30 p.m.
