WESTFIELD, NJ—Currently PSE&G is showing no reports of power outages in Westfield. That could change if high winds from Winter Storm Euclid knock down branches and trees, bringing power lines down with them.
In anticipation of the storm, PSE&G said that the company scheduled additional personnel to be ready overnight to respond to outages as soon as the strong winds subside and it is safe to work.
To report a power outage, call PSE&G’s customer service line at 800-436-PSEG or log in to “My Account” at www.pseg.com. These are the only ways for the power company to know that you have lost power.
As was the policy after Superstorm Sandy, electric crews plan to work to restore power to the largest numbers of customers first, taking into account priority customers including hospitals, police stations, fire stations, water and sewer facilities, communications and customers on life-sustaining medical equipment.
PSE&G warns that downed wires should always be considered live. If you see a downed line, do not approach or drive over it and do not touch anything that might be in contact with it. To report a downed wire or other visible equipment damage, call 800-436-PSEG and tell them the nearest cross street.
