The Rake and Hoe Garden Club of Westfield has a long-term reputation for its service to the community. In keeping with the club’s current theme, “Sharing with our Community,”  Rake and Hoe Members recently tended to the gardens at the north side of the Westfield Train Station.

During the year they also maintain the gardens at Shadowlawn Pocket Park on Rahway Avenue; Miller-Cory House Museum and the Clare Brownell Wildflower Garden at the Westfield Historical Society’s Reeve History and Cultural Resource Center.

The Rake and Hoe Garden Club of Westfield has a diverse membership spanning all ages, interests and occupations. Federated with the National Council of State Garden Clubs and the Garden Club of New Jersey, the club has between 50 and 70 members. For more information, call Pat Wilson at 908-389-9342 or check the club’s Facebook page and its website, rakeandhoe.org.

The Rake and Hoe Junior Garden Club, which meets once a month, also has members between first and eighth grades. If interested in joining, call Beth Siano at 908-233-4150.
