SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — After Dan Misuraca returned from a four-year stint with the U.S. Marines in 1996, he went into retail for the next 15 years. One weekend, after hosting a reunion weekend with his buddies from the military, he wanted to turn the party into a business. He and his wife, Katie, opened Red, White & Cue in Kearny, NJ, and have brought the concept to Scotch Plains.

Red, White & Cue Smokeshack, a new authentic BBQ smokehouse, has opened on Rte. 22 West in Scotch Plains right next door to Bowcraft. Offerings include Carolina pulled pork, St. Louis cut ribs, brisket, smoked chicken, locally made sausages, sides and a "BBQ sundae:" meat of your choice with baked beans topped with coleslaw and house-made pickles served in a mason jar.

A Grand Opening ceremony is planned for late February, but before then, the doors are now open. Learn more at redwhiteandqueme.com.
