The Union County Baseball Association invites young ballplayers – boys and girls – to register for its Summer Youth League baseball and softball teams.This annual youth baseball program in Warinanco Park is sponsored by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Union County Baseball Association and the Union County Department of Parks and Recreation.
“Since 1945, Union County has offered opportunities for young ballplayers to strengthen their skills and have fun during the summer,” said Freeholder Chairman Bruce Bergen. “The Summer Youth League continues this long tradition of providing coaches, umpires, shirts and baseball caps to boys and girls who enjoy participating in baseball and softball games at Warinanco Park.”
Registration for the 2017 Summer Baseball and Softball programs is available online at Or you can sign-up in-person on Saturday, June 10 and June 17 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Warinanco Park Boathouse in Roselle. Participants are required to bring a $25 registration fee and a birth certificate for the in-person registration. There will be no refunds after Team Assignment Day.
All games during the Summer Youth League are played in Warinanco Park, on the border of Elizabeth and Roselle, Mondaythrough Friday, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The games are coached and supervised by Union County Baseball Association staff. An awards picnic will be held in the first week of August to mark the end of the summer leagues.

All those who register will participate in play. The baseball leagues have three age groups: Minor League, 8-10-year-olds; Major League, 11-12-year-olds; and Teen League, 13-15-year-olds. The new softball league will be for 10-12-year-old players.
