WESTFIELD, NJ — Beginning Tuesday, traffic and parking may be impacted as Union County oversees the replacement of an underground bridge over a stream on Elm Street at Orchard Street, Westfield police announced via Nixle Monday.

The road will remain open, but reduced to a single lane at times, police said.

The first phase of this project will involve utility work, police said, as the aging natural gas mains will be replaced and upgraded on Elm Street between Stop & Shop and East Broad Street.
