On Friday, April 28, Roosevelt Intermediate School brought back a time honored tradition: their Spaghetti Dinner. The night was a huge success bringing in over 150 guests, many volunteers and over $2,600 in donations.
At this event, guests gathered to support Girls Learn International’s chosen recipient “Challenging Heights,” an organization that works to help children in servitude on Lake Volta in Africa. The cafeteria was transformed into an Italian Cafe, where people came to socialize, listen to music and of course eat.
The event featured Roosevelt’s own Jazz Band and a talented and aspiring Jazz Ensemble from Westfield High School. The bands played into the evening while children danced, guests socialized and all enjoyed excellent food from Westfield sponsors. Excellent baked goods, raffle basket prizes, children’s activities and a beautiful wall of respect created by Girls Learn International made this an unforgettable evening. It was an amazing night and the Spaghetti Dinner Committee and Girls Learn International Club are thankful to all who attended, donated and helped.
