James C. DeAngelo, ’85, Principal of Saint Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, has announced that the following local residents earned honor roll status for the third marking period of 2015-2016:

Cranford:  Andrew Tobin, '18, James Anderson, '19, and Patrick Keenaghan, '19 earned First Honors.  Lucas Coleman, '17, Michael Larkin, '17, Matthew Baldowski, '18, Luis Espinal, '18, James Paradiso, '18, Marek Wlodarski, '18, and Kevin Cuddihy, '19 earned Second Honors.  Honorable Mention was attained by Jacob Quinones, '19.  Lucas Coleman and Michael Larkin were inducted into the National Honor Society and Coleman into the Spanish National Honor Society.  The following were recognized for their performance in National Modern Language exams:  Lucas Coleman (Spanish 4 Honorable Mention), Andrew Tobin (Spanish 1 Silver Medal), Luis Espinal (Spanish 1 Gold Medal), Marek Wlodarski (Spanish 1 Bronze Medal), and Jared Wilson, '18 (Spanish 1 Honors).  
Fanwood:  James Wright, '16 earned an Honorable Mention.
 
Mountainside:  Sean Hess, '17, Keith Schmidt, '18, and Kyle Hess, '19 earned First Honors.  Thomas Hannan, '18 earned Second Honors.  Honorable Mention was attained by Connor McGee, '17.  Sean Hess and Connor McGee were inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society.  Sean Hess and Thomas Hannan won silver medals in the National Spanish Exam.  Keith Schmidt won a bronze medal in the National German Exam.
 

Scotch Plains:  David Clancy, '16, Kyle Kelly, '17, Theo MacMillan, '17, Matthew Coyne, '18, and Sean FitzGibbon, '18 earned First Honors.  Brendan McEwen, '17 and Adam Miller, '17 earned Second Honors.  Honorable Mention was attained by Liam Guarnuccio, '16 and Kenneth Einhorn, '18.  Kyle Kelly and Theo MacMillan were inducted into the National Honor Society.  Kyle Kelly and Brendan McEwen were inducted into the Spanish Honor Society and Theo MacMillan and Sean FitzGibbon into the French National Honor Society.  Theo MacMillan and Sean FitzGibbon earned honors in the French National Exam and Brendan McEwen in the Spanish Exam.  Matthew Coyne earned a National Honorable Mention in the Italian Exam.
 
Westfield:  William Fitzpatrick, '16, Owen Heim, '18, Brendan Kane, '18, Mark Schiavo, '18, and Mark Lovito, '19 earned First Honors.  John Lovito, '16, Stuart Callinan, '17, Sean Mikovits, '17, Shane Shell, '18, William Slaski, '18, and Aidan Lezynski, '19 earned Second Honors.  Honorable Mention was attained by Robert Brancatella, '16, Daniel Manganello, '17, Miles Brancatella, '18, Thomas Gannaway, '18, and Timothy Rosa, '19.  Sean Mikovits was inducted into the National Honor Society.  Stuart Callinan was inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society.  Brendan Kane and Thomas Gannaway were inducted into the French National Honor Society.  The following earned honors in the National Modern Language Exams:  William Fitzpatrick, Owen Heim, and Thomas Gannaway (French Bronze Medal), Brendan Kane (French Honorable Mention) Miles Brancatella (Spanish 2 Bronze Medal), Daniel Manganello (Spanish 2 Silver Medal), Sean Mikovits, (Spanish 2 Honorable Mention), Matthew Phillips, '17 and Thomas Riley, '17 (Spanish Honorable Mention), and William Slaski and Jackson Tennant, '18 (German Achievement).
 
First Honors is awarded to students with an average of A or higher (4.0) and no grade lower than a C.  Second Honors is awarded to students with an average at or above the midpoint between A and B+ (3.7) and no grade lower than a C.  Honorable Mention is awarded to students with an average of B+ or higher (3.5) and no grade lower than a C.
