FANWOOD, NJ — Shovlin Mattress Factory, a Westfield-family owned business in Fanwood, donated $3,100 to Play For P.I.N.K last month to help fight breast cancer.

This was the second year in a row that the small business has donated five percent of sales of its high-end Nirvana mattresses from the month of October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month) to the local event, which raises money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

“Thank you to all of our loyal customers who made this possible,” said Ron Shovlin, who owns Shovlin Mattress Factory with his wife, Kara. “It is very important that we continue to give back and help find a cure.”

“I am so honored that Ron and Kara Shovlin have donated to Play For P.I.N.K. (Breast Cancer Research Foundation ) for several years,” said Beth Hornstein, one of the local Play for P.I.N.K. event’s organizers. She noted that the small business often gives back to local and national causes.
