FANWOOD, NJ — Shovlin Mattress Factory in Fanwood, owned by Westfield residents Ron and Kara Shovlin, recently donated a portion of sales of their high-end “Nirvana” mattresses during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) to Play for P.I.N.K.

The mattresses are available in pink upon request.

“This year, my friend Brit Bryson is battling breast cancer and a team of us participated in the Scotch Plains walk sponsored by Play for P.I.N.K. in September,” Kara Shovlin said. “Turns our I knew the co-chair, Beth Hornstein. Our boys are friends. And we were were excited to learn that they donate 100 percent of what they raise to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.”

The couple recently presented Hornstein with a check for $4,000.

“We just like to find ways to give back when we can,” Kara Shovlin said. “It makes doing business more fulfilling.”
