WESTFIELD, NJ – Both Blue Devils varsity soccer programs advanced to the Union County Tournament semifinals on Saturday.

Neither Westfield team allowed a goal, as the boys shutout Oratory Prep, while the girls blanked Oak Knoll to advance to the tournament’s final four.

Michael Prosuk scored late in the second half, to break a scoreless tie in the 70th minute to lead the Blue Devils past No. 7 Oratory. Koryn Kramer picked up the victory, making five saves for Westfield.

For the girls, Carly Bechtloff and Hannah Liddy scored in opposite halves, as the Blue Devils upset No. 4 Oak Knoll on the road to advance. Lizzie Brucia and Kiera Loftus each made saves in the game to earn the victory for Westfield.

Both semifinal matches are scheduled for next Saturday at Arthur L. Johnson High School in Clark. The boys faceoff against No. 6 Summit, while the girls challenge top-seeded Scotch Plains-Fanwood. Kickoff times have not been determined.
