WESTFIELD, NJ — Ladies could be found lining up on Elm Street to pick up their free gifts Thursday afternoon for Girls Day & Night Out, an event offering dozens of deals across the downtown.
Participants who registered early got a free gift of custom beauty makeup from Blende and a flyer with the downtown deals from nearly 90 participating shops and restaurants, said Sherry Cronin, executive director of Downtown Westfield Corporation, which organized the event.
About 1,600 women had pre-registered for the event, and at least 500 women picked up their free gift around lunchtime, Cronin said. She pointed to a partnership between a South Avenue business and another located in the more traditional portion of the downtown as one of the many deals on offer.
Businesses offered shopping discounts, raffles, entertainment, refreshments and other festivities that were set to continue until 9 p.m. Parking for shoppers was free all day at on-street meters and parking lots, compliments of the town.
The vegan bakery franchise Cinnaholic will hold its opening Friday at 18 Elm St. From 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. the franchise will offer $1 cinnamon rolls at its new location next to Ferraro’s. Limit one per customer, per visit.
