WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield Police advised Monday morning that the following roads remain closed due to dangerous conditions: Clifton Street at Rahway Avenue; Rahway Avenue between Shackamxon Drive and Shadowlawn Drive; and West Broad Street between Lamberts Mill Road and Marion Avenue.

Mayor Shelley Brindle wrote Sunday night that PSEG would be working through the night to get the roads reopened.

“Rahway Ave between Shackamaxon and Shadowlawn remains closed and PSEG is aware that it is near the high school and Edison and they are doing everything they can to get it reopened by morning,” Brindle wrote.

She recommended that residents affected by road closures allow for extra travel time Monday morning.

“Police will be present to ensure that cars and pedestrians take the proper detours to remain safe,” she wrote. “With the emphasis on Rahway Ave, it is unlikely that Clifton Ave and Stevens Ave will be reopened in the morning. Please allow for extra time as necessary.”
