Guests who gathered for a “Downton Abbey” inspired dinner party in a local residence were thrilled to hear the familiar theme music from the popular PBS show coming from the baby grand piano in the parlor.

The hosts invited their surprised guests to listen along with one invited couple who “was in the know” and had made the arrangements and introductions so that the musical interlude could take place during the party.

Musician Brad Daniel accompanied his accomplished opera singing wife as she sang the moving aria called “O Mio Babbino, Caro” from the opera, “Gianni Schicchi” by Puccini. After this memorable performance that was reminiscent of a scene in the Channel 13 television series, the singer chose to sing the heartfelt “Silent Noon” by Ralph Vaughn Williams.
