The new Westfield facility sits on a tree-lined street near the intersection of Grove Street and Central Avenue in Westfield. Students here can enjoy two playgrounds, one with a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) concept and the other for traditional play. The STEAM playground includes a mud kitchen, a water wall, a garden, and other activities that will be updated with the seasons.
Inside, students can learn in eight spacious, newly renovated classrooms surrounded by windows and an abundance of sunlight. The classroom walls decorated with colorful, hand-painted murals go hand-in-hand with the purposefully arranged tables, chairs and educational materials conducive to the Montessori style of individualized learning. Unlike some schools, Spring Academy classrooms also include visual displays in Chinese and Spanish as preschoolers can begin their days at Spring Academy with a language immersion program.
The school provides a comprehensive After School program with school bus pickups from the Westfield school district and is also walking distance to Manor Park Swim Club and The Westfield Indoor Tennis Club where Spring Academy students will have the option of participating in swim and tennis enrichment classes. Spring Academy also offers other enrichments including chess, academics (Math, English, Spanish/Chinese), Cooking, Computers, STEAM, tutoring and more.
Spring Academy Director/Owner Jill Ji shares her excitement about the big move! “After six years of flux renting space in Garwood and Scotch Plains, everything is finally coming together. My staff and I look forward to learning, playing, and growing together with our students in our new permanent Westfield home!”
The philosophy of Spring Academy focuses on individualized education in a stimulating environment where each student is taught to unlock his or her inner potential and excel academically, developing independence, self-esteem, and an innate love of learning.
“Education has always been my passion,” Ji says. “Having children of my own, I understand the hassles parents go through trying to find a good school. We are your community school offering both quality and convenience.
