Spring has Sprung and so has Registration for Westfield Area YMCA's Spring 2 Session Programs

Registration for Westfield Area YMCA’s Spring 2 program session begins at 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 6th for Full members and at 7:30 am, Monday, April 10th for Basic (Program) and Non-Members. Spring 2 is a 9-week session that runs from April 23rd – June 24th.  Featured classes for adults include: Triathlon Swim & Run Training, Cardio Strength Blast, Cardio Strength High Intensity Interval Training (H.I.I.T.), Kick Butt Interval, Adult Jazz/Hip Hop, Ballet and Tap Classes. Youth and teens can enjoy new classes this spring such as Musical Theatre, Intro 2 Dance and Youth Yoga and leagues such as T-Ball and Basketball. Summer Flyers Track and Field is also registering.

Special Health Group programs this session include:  Ageless Grace, Delay the Disease:  Exercise to Fight Parkinson’s Symptoms; land and water-based Arthritis Exercise Programs; Project Healthy Bones for those who have or are at risk of developing osteoporosis; and Special Population Personal Training. Those with special/adaptive needs ages 18-26 can enjoy a variety of Dragonfly programs that include Dance and Stretch, Yoga, Strength & Conditioning, Boxing, Personal Training, Group Social Games, Games & Cards, Current Event Group and Crafts. 

There is something for everyone.  Active adults can attend Lunchtime Lectures, learn how to play bridge or be a part of the Book Group. Families can come and help build a better Y by supporting Annual Campaign events such as the Fitness “FUN” Raiser, Pocketbook Bingo and the 13th Annual Golf Classic and Dinner with Live Auction.

Special events include: Healthy Kids Day, an adult trip to the Museum of National History and a family trip to a Somerset Patriots Game.

The Westfield Area YMCA offers nutrition packages, diving lessons for ages 6+, swim lessons and sport classes for every age and skill level.  Free swim assessments are available. Lifeguarding certification courses are also available.

Don’t forget to register your child for 2017 Summer Camp! Learn more about the Y’s wide range of camps for ages 3-15 by attending the April 29th Camp Open House on Healthy Kids Day at the Main Y.  Registration is going on now for childcare education programs for the 2017-2018 school year for ages 6 months to school age. Programs include full-day child care, preschool, full-day Kindergarten and before/after school care. With programs in Westfield, Mountainside and Garwood, the Y is convenient and flexible.
