This year’s 29th Annual Giant Book Sale at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Westfield will open promptly at 12 noon on Sunday, Oct. 30, and run through Tuesday, Nov. 1. The Ssle is held in the church’s easily accessible Parish Hall. As always, sale attendees from New Jersey and beyond will be treated to some 15,000 gently used books, sorted in many useful categories, all of which are ready to find new homes. Bargain prices will again prevail. Customer-friendly cashiers and aides will be standing by to ensure a no-hassle browsing and buying experience.
Sponsored by the Friends of Music at St. Paul's, this year's Oct. 30 Sunday Sale closes at 4 p.m. (a new closing time), but continues on Monday, Oct. 31 (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and Tuesday, Nov. 1 (9 a.m. to N=noon), Bag Day--all you can put into one grocery bag at $4!
Book donations for the 29th Annual Giant Book Sale may be dropped off daily starting on Monday, Oct. 10, through Saturday, Oct. 29, after 3 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. weekends. Needed are hardback and paperback fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, audio books, CDs, vinyl records, DVDs, puzzles, children’s and teen books. The church cannot accept textbooks, magazines, encyclopedias, videotapes, computer software, cassette tapes, or Reader’s Digest condensed books. An outdoor PODS unit will be available for book drop-offs in the church parking lot (use the Euclid Avenue driveway entrance). Donors are asked to please bag their books by category (History, Science, Children’s, etc.).
Book Sale proceeds are used to fund St. Paul’s highly regarded Annual Spring Concert, performed in early May by the church’s semi-professional Parish Choir with members of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. The general public is always invited to attend this concert, as well as the various other Book Sale-sponsored musical programs that St. Paul’s provides throughout the year.
