The Devilfish Parent Assistance Committee (PAC), representatives from the Westfield Area Y along with supporters gathered May 6th at Ferraro's South in Westfield for conversation and cocktails to raise funds for the Westfield Area Y Devilfish Swim Team’s contribution to the Y Strong Kids Campaign.

The evening featured a basket raffle with proceeds benefiting both organizations. PAC Fundraiser Chair and Event Organizer, Cindy Morgan, was very pleased with the turnout. She especially would like to thank the Ferrarro's Restaurant family who were able to accommodate the party despite the devastating fire at their Elm Street location. Working closely with the Devilfish Coaches and the Westfield Area Y, PAC efforts this year secured funding for the new state of the art Wallace Pool Scoreboard/Colorado Timing System, a Devilfish Classic Invitational Swim Meet, a winter training trip to Arizona, team building social events and sponsored fundraising efforts for the Swim Team and the Y Strong Kids Campaign. Clearly these efforts paid off as the Devilfish swimmers had a fantastic 2010-2011 season including numerous personal best times, 19 new team records and 16 Y Short Course National Meet qualifiers.

In addition, Y Strong Kids events sponsored by the group include the cocktail party, raffle, "Penny Wars," "Flick and Float" and "Lunch with Champions."
