The Garden Club of Westfield Moves to St. Helen's

The Garden Club of Westfield, Inc. is pleased to announce that, beginning  September 10,  (the second Tuesday of September), 2013, it's monthly meetings  will be held at The Parish Community of Saint Helen’s, 1600 Rahway Avenue, Westfield, in the Msgr. Meany Parish Center.  Meeting time is from 12 noon to 3pm.

The Garden Club of Westfield welcomes anyone who may be interested in its activities to attend a meeting and become acquainted with its members.  Join us as we explore our new meeting place and review new projects and procedures for the coming 2013-2014 year.  The Club presently consists of 53 members dedicated to stimulating interest in gardening, horticulture, flower arranging, civic beautification and protection of the natural environment.

Some of our notable projects are to maintain the flower tubs in downtown Westfield, tending the Blue Star By-Way Memorial Garden in Tamaques Park and providing Christmas wreaths for the Westfield Municipal buildings. The club also provides weekly fresh floral arrangements to the Westfield Memorial Library.

On September 26,  at 6 pm at Williams-Sonoma, Westfield, Jane Manniello and Rosemary Shire, both members of The Garden Club of Westfield and Master Gardeners of Union County, will present a short program, “Putting Your Garden to Bed-How to Winterize Your Garden." This program is free to the public and all are encouraged to attend.
