CRANFORD, NJ — No one was inured when a box truck got wedged underneath the overhead canopy at a Citgo gas station in Cranford Friday.

At 2:09 p.m., police were called to the station at the corner of North Avenue and Orchard Street. The driver, a 33-year old woman, pulled into the station to get gas and misjudged the height of the canopy, which is 11-feet. She was issued a summons for careless driving.

Civilians in the area gathered to photograph the accident. A driver was stopped by an officer on scene for using his phone to photograph the crash while turning onto Orchard Street. It is believed that driver was let off with a warning for distracted driving.
