UNION COUNTY, NJ — Looking for a COVID-19 test, but don’t have a car? The county is offering free COVID-19 testing at walkup test sites throughout the county, including Tamaques Park in Westfield Aug. 20.

Any county residents can make an appointment at any mobile test unit site regardless of the municipality in which they live by visiting this page on the county’s website, the county announced.

After bringing its mobile test unit to Plainfield, Union Township and Winfield earlier this week, the county is set to bring the walkup testing to Elizabeth and Westfield, according to the announcement.

In Westfield, the mobile test unit will visit Tamaques Park Thursday, Aug. 20, officials said. Click here to schedule an appointment. Enter 1872 Lamberts Mill Road, Scotch Plains, into your GPS to visit this address.

Union County residents who need assistance by phone can call the mobile test unit at 908-518-4307. Additional dates for the mobile test unit are anticipated.

Union County’s drive-through test site at Kean University remains open 9 to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, according to the county’s website. At the drive through site, an appointment is required, and all visitors must arrive in cars, officials said. No walk-ins are accepted, officials said.

Testing is available to all Union County residents who wish to be tested, whether or not they are experiencing symptoms, officials said. It is free of charge, regardless of whether you have insurance or not, officials said.

It is also available to all first responders and frontline health workers who are asymptomatic and that work in Union County, regardless of their residence, officials said.

Testing is also available to first responders and frontline health workers who live and work outside the county but reside in New Jersey, officials said.
