Superintendent of Schools Margaret Dolan has created a video message regarding Public Question #3 on the November 5th ballot.  The video can be viewed at and is also being shown on WHS-TV36.  The brief video is meant to provide information to Westfield voters regarding Public Question #3 on the November 5th ballot.

The video explains that the school referendum is required by the State to give Westfield voters the opportunity to decide on whether to accept new state aid for the Westfield roof projects, which will be underway during the summer of 2014. If approved, the referendum will supersede the one passed in December 2012 and will result in a $2.7 million reduction in Westfield taxes over the life of the bond. If the replacement bond is not approved by Westfield voters, Westfield will lose the $2.7 million grant opportunity for the roofing work, and the previously passed referendum will remain in effect. The school roofs will still be repaired -- but without state aid and at no reduction in taxes.  Polls will be open from 6 AM to 8 PM on November 5th.
