WESTFIELD, NJ —  The Westfield Volunteer Rescue Squad, now in its 67th year of service, was honored at last week’s town council meeting.

WVRS vice president Michael Besaw thanked the squad's dedicated volunteer members and the residents and business owners who provide financial support.

Members of the squad went out on 2,181 calls in 2017, according to records kept by WVRS. The squad is completely run by volunteers and funded solely by donations.
