A group of 29 delegates from the Model United Nations (MUN) Club at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison participated in a four-day Model UN Empire Conference at NYU from Dec. 10-13, where they learned about diplomacy, motions, caucuses and resolutions.
They negotiated, debated and strategized with students from around the world as far away as Thailand and Pakistan. As always, they made great friends and connections with students who also have a vested interest in making the world a better global community. W-H came out strong against veteran teams in its second year at the Empire MUN Conference.
While all delegates are winners in the level of experience gained in the realm of global interconnectedness, six W-H team members received special recognition:
Verbal Commendations – Laura Arriaza '16 of Plainfield, Nathaniel Nyema of Edison, Josh Marseille of Linden and Raphael Genty of Scotch Plains
Outstanding Delegate – Aryan Vavila of Bridgewater
Best Delegate – Zishan Sajid of Carteret
The team is looking forward to two more conferences in 2016 at The Bergen Academy in February and The Dalton School in April.
