EDISON, NJ — Students in all three divisions at The Wardlaw+Hartridge School in Edison showed their school spirit during a series of activities leading up to the annual Fall Fair and Homecoming Day.
The Lower School held its fifth annual Spirit Event to celebrate the "spirit of participation" on Friday, Oct. 11. Students from PreK through Grade 5 engaged in activity stations including a sprint relay, over under game, musical hoops, tunnel race, balloon goal, super snake and funny face freeze dance. The event was run by Lee Nicholls, Physical Education Department chair, and members of the PE staff.
The Middle School conducted various spirit themed dress days and joined the other divisions for Friday's Green and Gold day. During recess, members of the Student Government and Publications group organized a pep rally that included some friendly competitions. Students competed in teams of advisory groups during recess on the turf fields.
The Upper School held its annual competition among the classes during Spirit Week competition, which was won by the juniors in the Class of 2021. Themes included seasons and music styles and the new Clash of Colors competition wrapped up the week. The Upper School also held a Homecoming Dance on Friday night.
Students in the Upper and Middle School divisions observed Breast Cancer Awareness on Pink Day on Oct. 10 and raised $445 to be donated to the American Cancer Society.
