The Westfield Area Y will host a Senior Day on Wednesday, May 30th beginning at 12:30 pm at the Main Y Facility, 220 Clark Street in Westfield.  The day will consist of several special events taking place at the Y for adults over the age of 55 to celebrate seniors and wellness. This event is FREE and open to members and non-members.

A cooking demo and lecture called “Food and Mood,” will be given by Chef Jesse Kraft, Executive Chef of a high end catering facility and at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.  Mr. Kraft will be accompanied by Deanna Schweighardt, RD, who is the Outpatient Nutritionist at St. Barnabas for many years.  Mr. Kraft and Ms. Schweighardt will share their knowledge of how different foods can affect your moods, and samples will be available.  The demo/lecture will start promptly at 12:30 pm.

Immediately following the demo/lecture there will be a schedule of special fitness classes on land and in the pool and a guided walk in Westfield, depending on the weather.  Classes to be offered are: Zumba Gold, Walk in Westfield, Aqua Zumba, TRX Stretch & Strength, Gentle Yoga and Ai Chi.  Please see the Westfield Area Y website at for the specific class times.
