The Westfield Area Y is pleased to announce a new Youth and Teen Water Running Clinic on four consecutive Sundays beginning February 15th from 1:30 pm to 2:25 pm in the Wallace pool at the Westfield Area Y, 220 Clark Street. The Wallace pool is six lanes and 25 yards in length.
This clinic is open to boys and girls ages 11-15 who are at least 4’8” tall, comfortable in deep water and already have basic swimming skills. It will teach the principles of deep water running and focuses on building endurance and core strength. It consists of intervals in deep water and strength exercises and running drills in the shallow end. This is a fantastic indoor activity for the winter and participants are sure to have fun too! This clinic is also a preseason conditioning program for the Y Flyers Track and Field Program.
Spaces are limited and early registration is highly recommended and can be done for members online or for non-members at the Welcome Center of the Main Y facility. Water running buoyancy equipment is provided.
