The Westfield Area Y Preschool is excited to announce that it will offer a new, extended enrichment program this school year. The classes are designed to add a day to the child's week or extend their day from half to full day begins at 8:30 am - 3:00 pm.

Each day of the week offers an exciting enrichment: Monday is drama; Tuesday is games; Wednesday is art; Thursday is music; and Friday and is science/nature. All classes are taught by the Y's enthusiastic teachers, and the children will learn in a small group setting. Children have the opportunity to learn, explore and play outside of their traditional classroom. It also provides the opportunity for children with interests in music, art, acting, science and nature with extra time to flourish and stay engaged in activities they love best.

Preschoolers must be potty-trained to be able to participate in the enrichment program. Each class session includes time for the children to play on the playground or in the gym and a snack time.

Additionally, extended time is offered from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm as a bridge between the preschool class and enrichment. Children will have lunch and a short rest period. Lunch is provided by the parents or for an additional fee can be ordered through the Y's Lunch Bunch Program.

Preschool programs are held at the Robert & Virginia Bauer Family Branch located at 422 East Broad Street in Westfield. Socialization is stressed, creativity is encouraged, and verbal communication skills are stressed through art, music, free play and physical activities.
