Westfield Area Y Puddle Jumpers enjoy developing new friendships and building skills through inquiry, exploration and weekly themed activities during their summer camp sessions.
Puddle Jumpers camp runs in two-week sessions throughout the summer for ages 3-5 years old with three and five day options. It’s directed by Jane Clancy, who has been teaching preschool since 1987. Campers enjoy activities such as outdoor playground time at two playgrounds and a field, water play, arts and crafts, camp sing-a-longs, games and guest performances at Lincoln School in Westfield where they have central air and even get to have a water day with sprinklers, water games and more. It’s a classic summer fun day every day!
“Camp should be fun and engaging with a culture and environment of positive energy. Our staff goes through intensive training so we are all on the same page and the #1 priority is safety. The Y core values and philosophy provide a great foundation for how we should all conduct ourselves. Our campers gain some wonderful social experiences and learn to investigate, explore and be creative through fun enriching activities,” states Westfield Area Y Puddle Jumpers Camp Director Jane Clancy.
Children enjoy crazy science, community, nature and “Wild and Wacky,” a new theme this summer. Wallaby Tales is coming to visit the campers with baby animals and they will make binoculars and look for wild animals (stuffed) during a Pseudo Safari hunt! On “Camping Out Day,” campers will set up pop-up tents, have a pretend fire with tissue paper, mystery story time and make s’mores. All these activities will make memories these young children will cherish and remember.
