WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield Board of Education Member Mark Friedman announced in a letter to the editor this weekend that he will not run for another term this November. His second three-year term is up at the end of 2017.

Friedman called his experience as a board member “amazing”and encouraged parents to get involved while they are young.

“Do not make the same mistake I made,” he wrote. “Get involved now! I realize that the time commitment is considerable, but you will be helping to set policy for our district and you will be supporting the hundreds of staff who work here. You will also be setting the future path for more than 6,300 students.”
