WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield police say they’ve caught the man who, on three separate occasions, snuck up behind unsuspecting women and grabbed their buttocks, then fled.
On Sept. 10, Pedro Sanchez, 20, of Westfield was apprehended after fleeing from detectives. He has since been charged with 4th degree criminal sexual contact in three incidents—one on Aug. 10 in the area of Summit and Washington at 6:53 p.m., the second on Aug. 26 at the south side of the Westfield train station at 7:15 p.m. and the third on Sept. 3 in the central business district at 10 p.m., according to Lt. John Ricerca.
Tracking down the suspect was the result of “phenomenal police work by the Westfield police, especially the detective bureau,” said Ricerca.
Sanchez was also charged with obstruction of the administration of the law. He was released, pending a court date, upon posting $3,500 bail.
