WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield Farmer’s Market, sponsored by the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce, will hold its grand opening this Saturday, June 6, at 8:30 a.m.
Located in the parking lot on the south side of the Westfield Train Station, the market will be open each Saturday through October from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It will re-open for a special one-day event on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
“This is our 20th season, and it will be our best,” said Christopher Devine, manager of the Westfield Farmer’s Market and chairman of the GWACC.
Featured this year are organic produce, baked goods, fresh pasta, prepared food, organic coffee, honey, nuts, local wine, fine oils, natural seasonings and more. For a full list of vendors, click here.
Among the market’s highlights are organic produce from Chickadee Creek Farm, located in Pennington; organic coffee from Reign Coffee; apples and other assorted fresh produce from Donaldson’s Farm in Hackettstown; a selection of grass-fed beef, free range chicken and lamb from Glenmalure Farms in Wantage; and a huge selection of potted plants, flowers and vegetables from Skeba Farms in Monroe Township.
Devine recently spoke about the market at a town council meeting:
“This is my fourth year as head of the Westfield Farmer’s Market, and I want it to be our best year yet,” said Devine. “As the ultimate supporter of the Westfield Farmer’s Market, I want our market to be the premier destination for fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the state of New Jersey.”
